I went to all isles games vs panthers and a few over the years at coliseum but nothing prepared me for this year. I flew in for opening day and it was amazing and planned a boys weekend with my 5 year old for ducks and wings game in late match, but I was fortunate to be at game 3 on last minute and flight notice. It cost me a small fortune but to see my isles win in ot was like 93 all over again. I hope they win game 6 and this story book year doesn't end with just closing the building for all of us who don't live close. That being said, the team will still be in the area and Brooklyn saves the team from leaving to a far away city, whether that be Quebec, Hamilton, Oklahoma City, Kansas City or where ever else it would not longer be the Islanders and the team we cheered on since as long as we can remember. The tradition of the Islanders will still be intact only the games will be in Brooklyn instead. I am a season ticket holder and I try to make at least 30 of the 41 regular season home games and I have an 80 mile round trip to get to the games from my home in Westchester County and I did this trip through the good times and the bad times and I enjoyed it because I love the Islanders. I will be going to the games in Brooklyn but, it just won't feel the same over there. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
